Transliteration

sañjaya uvāca | duḥśāsanaḥ sa-tribhiḥ kruddhaḥ pārthaṃ vivyādha patribhiḥ | lalāṭe bharataśreṣṭha śaraiḥ saṃnata-parvabhiḥ ||

Translation

Disse Sañjaya: Enfurecido, Duḥśāsana feriu Pārtha (Arjuna) com três flechas emplumadas, ó melhor dos Bhāratas—flechas cujas juntas se curvavam para baixo—atingindo-o na testa. A cena mostra como a ira no campo de batalha conduz à violência dirigida, enquanto o guerreiro justo é provado em resistência e autocontrole sob provocação.
