भीष्मपर्व — अध्याय ११०: पार्थभीमयोः प्रहारः तथा भीष्माभिमुखं संग्रामविस्तारः

Arjuna and Bhima’s pressure; escalation toward Bhishma

तानुवाच महाबाहुर्भीष्म: कुरुपितामह: । स्वागतं तव वार्ष्णेय स्वागतं ते धनंजय

tān uvāca mahābāhur bhīṣmaḥ kuru-pitāmahaḥ | svāgataṁ tava vārṣṇeya svāgataṁ te dhanañjaya ||

Disse Sañjaya: Então o poderoso Bhīṣma, avô dos Kurus, dirigiu-se a eles: “Sê bem-vindo, ó Vārṣṇeya (Kṛṣṇa); sê bem-vindo, ó Dhanañjaya (Arjuna).” Em meio à batalha iminente, as palavras do ancião sustentam a etiqueta da honra e do reconhecimento até mesmo para com adversários, refletindo o código kṣatriya de tratar com respeito antes do conflito.
