भीष्मपर्व — अध्याय ११०: पार्थभीमयोः प्रहारः तथा भीष्माभिमुखं संग्रामविस्तारः

Arjuna and Bhima’s pressure; escalation toward Bhishma

स हनिष्यति संग्रामे भीष्मं परपुरज्जयम्‌ । अशक्यमपि कुर्याद्धि रणे पार्थ: समुद्यत:,“वे शत्रुनगरीपर विजय पानेवाले भीष्मको युद्धमें अवश्य मार डालेंगे। कुन्तीपुत्र अर्जुन उद्यत हो जाय॑ँ तो युद्धमें असम्भवको भी सम्भव कर सकते हैं

sa haniṣyati saṅgrāme bhīṣmaṁ parapurañjayam | aśakyam api kuryād dhi raṇe pārthaḥ samudyataḥ ||

Sañjaya disse: “Na batalha ele certamente abaterá Bhīṣma, o conquistador das fortalezas inimigas. Pois quando Pārtha (Arjuna), filho de Kuntī, se ergue com firme resolução, pode tornar possível na guerra até o que parece impossível.”
