Ulūpī’s Disclosure and the Saṃjīvana-Maṇi: Arjuna’s Restoration (उलूपी-प्रकटनं संजीवनमणि-स्थापनं च)
पुन: पुन: प्रसाद्यैतांस्त एनमिदमन्रुवन् । “वे तत्काल वसुओंके पास जाकर उन्हें बारंबार प्रसन्न करके आपके लिये उनसे बारंबार क्षमा-याचना करने लगे। तब वसुगण उनसे इस प्रकार बोले--
punaḥ punaḥ prasādya etāṁs te enam idam anruvan |
Arjuna disse: Repetidas vezes eles buscaram apaziguar aqueles Vasus e então lhe dirigiram estas palavras. Tendo ido aos Vasus, agradaram-nos muitas vezes e, por tua causa, pediram perdão de novo e de novo. Então os Vasus lhes falaram assim—
अर्जुन उवाच
The passage highlights an ethical model of reconciliation: when harm or offense has occurred, one should repeatedly seek to restore goodwill (prasāda) and explicitly ask forgiveness. Persistence in making amends is portrayed as a dharmic response, especially when the matter concerns others’ welfare (“for your sake”).
Arjuna narrates that certain persons went to the Vasus, repeatedly propitiated them, and kept requesting pardon on someone’s behalf. After being thus approached, the Vasus respond, and the story proceeds to their reply.
