Reunion at the Kuru Court and Authorization of the Aśvamedha

Educational Q&A

The verse highlights dharmic order: after completing a defined period of observance, one resumes rightful responsibilities. Wealth (ratna) is portrayed as something to be carried and managed in service of the kingdom and duty, not merely possessed.

Vaiśampāyana narrates that the Pāṇḍavas, bearing abundant treasures, depart and return to Hastināpura. The timing is specified as the completion of one month of the listener’s father’s observance, indicating a transition back to public and royal affairs.
