Marutta Seeks Saṃvarta’s Priestly Support; Conditions, Truth-Discipline, and Rival Powers

मरुत्त उवाच बृहस्पतिं गत: पूर्वमहं संवर्त तच्छूणु । न मां कामयते याज्यमसौ वासवकाम्यया,मरुत्तने कहा--संवर्तजी! मैं पहले बृहस्पतिजीके ही पास गया था। वहाँका समाचार बताता हूँ, सुनिये। वे इन्द्रको प्रसन्न रखनेकी इच्छासे अब मुझे अपना यजमान बनाना नहीं चाहते हैं

Translation

Marutta disse: “Ó Saṃvarta, antes eu já havia ido primeiro a Bṛhaspati. Contar-te-ei o que se passou lá; escuta. Por desejar agradar a Vāsava (Indra), ele não quer mais aceitar-me como yajamāna.”
