Mind as Charioteer; Kṣetrajña, Tapas, and Dhyāna-Yoga
Adhyātma-Upadeśa
रथेन रथिनं पश्य क्लिश्यमानमचेतनम्
rathena rathinaṃ paśya kliśyamānam acetanam | yāvat rathasya gatiḥ panthāḥ tāvat rathena gacchati buddhimān | yatra rathasya mārgaḥ samāpyate tatra taṃ tyaktvā padbhyā yātrāṃ karoti ||
Vāyu disse: “Vê o tolo: embora seja levado por uma carruagem, ao chegar à montanha íngreme continua a sofrer. O sábio viaja de carruagem apenas até onde a estrada o permite; quando a estrada de carruagens termina, ele a deixa para trás e prossegue a pé.” O ensinamento é usar meios e instrumentos com justeza—nem apegar-se a eles além do seu alcance, nem rejeitá-los quando são úteis.
