धृतराष्ट्रस्य वनप्रस्थानानुज्ञा | Permission for Dhṛtarāṣṭra’s Forest-Retirement
तानागतानभिप्रेक्ष्य समस्तं च सुहृज्जनम् । ब्राह्मणांश्र महीपाल नानादेशसमागतान्,अवश्यमेव वक्तव्यमिति कृत्वा ब्रवीमि व: । एष न्यासो मया दत्त: सर्वेषां वो युधिष्ठिर:
tān āgatān abhiprekṣya samastaṃ ca suhṛjjanam | brāhmaṇāṃś ca mahīpāla nānādeśa-samāgatān | avaśyam eva vaktavyam iti kṛtvā bravīmi vaḥ | eṣa nyāso mayā dattaḥ sarveṣāṃ vo yudhiṣṭhiraḥ ||
Vendo todos os que haviam chegado—todo o seu círculo de bem-querentes e os brāhmaṇas reunidos de muitas regiões—o rei decidiu: “Isto deve ser dito, sem falta.” E assim lhes falou: “Este encargo, esta responsabilidade confiada, foi por mim colocada sobre vós todos—(e) sobre Yudhiṣṭhira.”
