वैशम्पायन उवाच
Even at moments of withdrawal or transition, a righteous leader acts with responsibility: he does not abandon dependents, but guides them in an orderly, duty-centered way. The verse highlights dharma as steadiness in role and obligation, not merely personal preference.
Vaiśampāyana narrates to King Janamejaya that Yudhiṣṭhira—the king and chief support of the Pāṇḍavas—goes out from the city, accompanied by his brothers and the women of the household, marking a significant departure in the Ashramavāsika episode.
