तथा तपस्विनस्तस्य राजर्षे: कौरवस्य ह
tathā tapasvinastasya rājarṣeḥ kauravasya ha
Yudhiṣṭhira disse: “Assim também foi com aquele asceta, o sábio régio da linhagem dos Kurus.”
युधिछिर उवाच
The verse highlights the ideal of the rājarṣi—one who unites royal responsibility with ascetic discipline—implying that true authority is grounded in tapas (self-restraint) and dharma rather than mere power.
Yudhiṣṭhira, speaking in the Āśramavāsika context, refers to a Kuru royal sage who is an ascetic, using him as a point of comparison (“thus indeed”) to reinforce a preceding description or example.
