Merit and Destinations from the Gift of Cows
अरण्ये गृहवासे च शूराश्वातिथिपूजने । सर्वे यान्ति पराललोंकान् स्वकर्मफलनिर्जितान्
araṇye gṛhavāse ca śūrāśvātithipūjane | sarve yānti parāllokān svakarmaphalanirjitān ||
Bhīṣma ensina que a excelência no dharma não se restringe a um único modo de vida: alguns são heroicos na vida da floresta e na austeridade; outros, em sustentar a vida do chefe de família; e outros, em honrar e servir os hóspedes. Todos esses, pelo mérito conquistado por seus próprios atos, alcançam os mundos mais elevados que obtiveram como fruto de suas ações.
