Chapter 34
जिनके कार्योमें धर्म, अर्थ और काम तीनोंका निर्वाह होता है, किसी एककी भी हानि नहीं होने पाती तथा जो सदा शिष्टाचारमें ही संलग्न रहते हैं, उनको मैं नमस्कार करता हूँ
yeṣāṁ kāryeṣu dharma-artha-kāmāḥ trayo 'pi samyak pravartante, na caikasya api hāniḥ sambhavati, ye ca sadā śiṣṭācāre eva saṁlagnāḥ, tān ahaṁ namasyāmi.
Disse Nārada: Eu me inclino diante daqueles cujos empreendimentos sustentam os três fins da vida—dharma, prosperidade material (artha) e desejo legítimo (kāma)—de modo que nenhum seja prejudicado ou negligenciado; e diante dos que permanecem sempre devotados à conduta refinada e aos padrões dos virtuosos.
नारद उवाच
True excellence in action lies in balancing the three puruṣārthas—dharma, artha, and kāma—so that none is sacrificed, and in consistently adhering to śiṣṭācāra (the refined conduct upheld by the virtuous).
Nārada offers a reverential statement, praising and saluting those exemplary people whose actions harmonize moral duty, practical welfare, and legitimate desire, while remaining steadfast in proper, cultured behavior.
