tad dṛṣṭvā mahad āścaryaṃ dāśārhā jātamanyavaḥ | tatrājalpan mithaḥ kecit samābhāṣya parasparam |
Ao verem aquele grande prodígio, os Dāśārhas (os Yādavas) foram tomados pela ira. Ali, alguns começaram a falar entre si, comentando o ocorrido e maravilhando-se de que somente um brâmane pudesse suportar tamanho perigo e permanecer vivo sobre aquela carruagem.
वायुदेव उवाच
The verse highlights how extraordinary events provoke reflection on worthiness and discipline: survival in extreme situations is implicitly linked to inner restraint and merit, while also showing how people may hastily generalize such merit into rigid claims about social categories (varṇa).
Vāyudeva reports that the Yādavas, shocked by a remarkable incident, become angry and begin discussing it among themselves, speaking mutually about how astonishing it was that someone could remain alive on the chariot—treating the episode as evidence of exceptional capability.
