अपेय: सागरो येषामपि शापान्महात्मनाम् | येषां कोपाग्निरद्यापि दण्डके नोपशाम्यति,उन्हीं महात्माओंके शापसे समुद्रका पानी पीनेयोग्य नहीं रहा। उनकी क्रोधाग्नि दण्डकारण्यमें आजतक शान्त नहीं हुई
Transliteration
apeyaḥ sāgaro yeṣām api śāpān mahātmanām | yeṣāṁ kopāgnir adyāpi daṇḍake nopaśāmyati ||
Translation
Bhīṣma disse: “Por causa da maldição daqueles sábios de grande alma, até as águas do oceano se tornaram impróprias para beber; e o fogo de sua ira não se extinguiu, ainda hoje, na floresta de Daṇḍaka.” O verso ressalta a força moral atribuída à integridade ascética: quando o dharma é violado, a justa cólera dos espiritualmente poderosos é retratada como duradoura e capaz de alterar o mundo.
