न क्रोधो न च मात्सर्य न लोभो नाशुभा मति: । भवन्ति कृतपुण्यानां भक्तानां पुरुषोत्तमे
na krodho na ca mātsaryaṁ na lobho nāśubhā matiḥ | bhavanti kṛta-puṇyānāṁ bhaktānāṁ puruṣottame ||
Disse Bhīṣma: Nos devotos de mérito acumulado, quando a devoção está firmada no Ser Supremo (Puruṣottama), não surge a ira, nem a inveja, nem a cobiça; e seu entendimento jamais se volta para o que é impuro ou nocivo.
भीष्म उवाच
True devotion to Puruṣottama, supported by accumulated merit and right conduct, naturally weakens and removes inner vices—anger, envy, and greed—and keeps the intellect from turning toward impure or harmful aims.
