कल्मषापहर-कीर्तनम् / Kīrtana for the Removal of Impurity
श्रीमहेश्वर उवाच आगमा लोकधर्माणां मर्यादा: सर्वनिर्मिता: । प्रामाण्येनानुवर्तन्ते दृश्यन्ते च दूढब्रता:
śrīmaheśvara uvāca āgamā lokadharmāṇāṁ maryādāḥ sarvanirmitāḥ | prāmāṇyenānuvartante dṛśyante ca dūḍhabratāḥ ||
Śrī Maheshvara disse: “As tradições autorizadas (āgamas) são os limites e padrões estabelecidos para os costumes do mundo. As pessoas as seguem por serem tidas como fontes válidas de conhecimento; e vê-se que aqueles de votos firmes a elas aderem com constância.”
श्रीमहेश्वर उवाच
That āgamas/traditional authoritative teachings function as the established standards (maryādā) for worldly conduct (lokadharma), and people—especially the disciplined and vow-bound—follow them because they are accepted as valid authority (prāmāṇya).
Śrī Maheśvara is speaking in an instructive mode, explaining how norms of conduct in society are grounded in recognized authoritative traditions, and noting that steadfast practitioners are visibly committed to following those standards.
