Śiva-nāmānukīrtana-prastāvaḥ
Prologue to the praise of Śiva and the Upamanyu testimony
नास्ति पुत्र पयो5रण्ये सुरभीगोत्रवर्जिते
nāsti putra payo 'raṇye surabhī-gotra-varjite |
Vāsudeva disse: “Meu filho, nesta floresta não há leite algum, pois ela está desprovida da linhagem de Surabhī (a vaca divina) — aqui não há vacas. Por isso, para nós, sábios que habitamos entre rios, cavernas, montanhas e muitos vaus sagrados, firmes na austeridade e na recitação de fórmulas sagradas, o refúgio supremo não é outro senão o Senhor Śaṅkara.”
