Arjuna–Vāyu Dialogue on Brāhmaṇa and Kṣatriya Precedence
एवं तुष्टास्तत: सर्वे अधस्ताद्धारपीडिता: । श्रमं त॑ं नावबुध्यामो धारयन्तो वसुंधराम्
evaṃ tuṣṭās tataḥ sarve adhas tād dhārapīḍitāḥ | śramaṃ taṃ nāvabudhyāmo dhārayanto vasuṃdharām ||
Assim, todos ficamos contentes; e, embora comprimidos por baixo pelo peso do fardo, nem sequer percebíamos tal esforço, ainda que estivéssemos sustentando a Terra.
रेणुक उवाच
When one is inwardly content and aligned with duty, even heavy responsibility can feel light; satisfaction and steadiness of mind can make hardship less consciously felt.
Reṇukā describes a group (speaking as ‘we’) who, though physically burdened from below while supporting the Earth, did not register the fatigue because they were collectively pleased and steady in their task.
