Educational Q&A

The passage underscores the Mahābhārata’s ethical idea that refined, luminous enjoyments in higher realms are portrayed as fruits of merit and dharmic living, and that honour (satkāra) and worship (pūjā) follow spiritual excellence.

Bhīṣma describes a glorious figure travelling in a vimāna, attended and worshipped by radiant divine maidens—identified as daughters of the Rudras and of divine seers—who are skilled in sweet speech and various arts of delight.
