नहुषोपाख्यानम्—दीपदान-धूप-बलीकर्म-प्रशंसा
Nahūṣa Episode and the Commendation of Lamp-Gifting and Household Offerings
द्रुतं सरस्वतीकूलात् स्मयन्निव महाबल: । ततो भृगुर्महातेजा मैत्रावरुणिमब्रवीत्
drutaṁ sarasvatīkūlāt smayann iva mahābalaḥ | tato bhṛgur mahātejā maitrāvaruṇim abravīt |
Disse Bhishma: Então o poderoso, como se sorrisse, apressou-se desde a margem do Sarasvatī. Em seguida, o sábio Bhṛgu, de grande esplendor, dirigiu-se a Maitrāvaruṇi (Agastya), dando início ao conselho seguinte deste episódio—no qual as consequências da desordem ritual e a intrusão de forças hostis se tornam um aviso moral sobre a contenção, a reta conduta e a proteção dos ritos sagrados.
