वंशानुकीर्तनम् — Genealogical Recitation from Dakṣa to Yayāti and the Establishment of the Paurava Line
तच्चाप्यतीत्य नृपतिरुत्तमाश्रमसंयुतम् । मन: प्रह्लादजननं दृष्टिकान्तमतीव च,उस वृक्षशून्य ऊसर भूमिको लाँचकर महाराज दुष्यन्त दूसरे विशालवनमें जा पहुँचे, जो अनेक उत्तम आश्रमोंसे सुशोभित था। देखनेमें अत्यन्त सुन्दर होनेके साथ ही वह मनमें अद्भुत आनन्दोललासकी सृष्टि कर रहा था। उस वनमें शीतल वायु चल रही थी। वहाँके वृक्ष फूलोंसे भरे थे और वनमें सब ओर व्याप्त हो उसकी शोभा बढ़ा रहे थे। वहाँ अत्यन्त सुखद हरी-हरी कोमल घास उगी हुई थी
taccāpyatītya nṛpatir uttamāśramasaṃyutam | manaḥ prahlādajananaṃ dṛṣṭikāntam atīva ca ||
Vaiśampāyana disse: Tendo também ultrapassado aquela região, o rei chegou a outra grande floresta, adornada por excelentes eremitérios. Era belíssima de se ver e, só de contemplá-la, nascia na mente uma alegria e um deleite profundos.
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse highlights how proximity to places of tapas and disciplined living (āśramas) naturally refines the mind: beauty aligned with dharma is not merely aesthetic but ethically uplifting, producing inner clarity and joy.
King Duṣyanta, continuing his journey, passes beyond the previous area and arrives at another vast forest distinguished by many fine hermitages; its serene and charming appearance fills the mind with delight.
