The verse highlights dharmic order in sacred learning: disciplined sages gather in a consecrated space and uphold proper precedence and procedure so that the transmission of sacred history occurs with reverence and restraint.
Uttanka describes arriving at a sacrificial venue where perfected brahmarṣis are seated comfortably, steadfast in vows, with the Sūta’s son (the designated storyteller, Ugraśravas) placed in front—setting the stage for formal recitation and listening.
