Śṛṅgī’s Curse on King Parikṣit
Parikṣit–Śṛṅgī–Takṣaka Causal Link
वायुकिरुवाच अयं शापो यथोद्दिष्टो विदितं वस्तथानघा: । तस्य शापस्य मोक्षार्थ मन्त्रयित्वा यतामहे
vāyukir uvāca: ayaṁ śāpo yathoddiṣṭo viditaṁ vaḥ tathānaghāḥ | tasya śāpasya mokṣārthaṁ mantrayitvā yatāmahe ||
Vāyuki disse: “Ó irrepreensíveis, esta maldição, tal como foi proferida, já é conhecida por todos vós. Portanto, para obter libertação desse anátema, deliberemos juntos e esforcemo-nos por encontrar um remédio.”
शेष उवाच
When faced with a grave moral-spiritual crisis (a śāpa), one should respond with collective deliberation (mantra) and disciplined effort (yatna), seeking a righteous means of relief rather than despair.
A leader among the Nāgas addresses the serpent community, reminding them that the curse is known to all and urging them to consult together to find a way to be freed from it.
