Entry into Khāṇḍavaprastha and Description of Indraprastha’s Founding

The verse highlights how public belief and political judgment can be shaped by hearsay, and how survival from a deadly plot appears like a 'rebirth.' Implicitly, it underscores the resilience of the righteous and the mysterious protection of dharma amid adharma-driven schemes.
After the lac-house incident, many had believed Kuntī and her sons died in the fire. When news spreads that they are alive, the kings interpret it as if the Pāṇḍavas have been born anew—an astonished reaction to their unexpected return.
