Adhyāya 196: Droṇa’s Conciliatory Counsel and Karṇa’s Suspicion of Counsel (मन्त्र-नय-विवादः)
स चापि तद्ू व्यदधात् सर्वमेव ततः सर्वे सम्बभूवुर्धरण्याम् । स चापि केशौ हरिरुद्धबर्ह शुक्लमेकमपरं चापि कृष्णम्,उन्होंने भी उन्हीं सब बातोंके लिये आज्ञा दी। तत्पश्चात् वे सब लोग पृथ्वीपर प्रकट हुए। उस समय भगवान् नारायणने अपने मस्तकसे दो केश निकाले, जिनमें एक श्वेत था और दूसरा श्याम
sa cāpi tad vyadadhāt sarvam eva tataḥ sarve sambabhūvur dharaṇyām | sa cāpi keśau harir uddhṛtabarhaḥ śuklam ekam aparaṃ cāpi kṛṣṇam ||
Vyāsa disse: Ele também pôs em curso todos aqueles desígnios; depois, todos eles nasceram sobre a terra. Então o Senhor Nārāyaṇa (Hari) arrancou de sua cabeça dois fios de cabelo—um branco e outro escuro—sinal da resolução divina que tomaria corpo para restaurar a ordem.
व्यास उवाच
The verse underscores that the restoration of dharma is not accidental: a deliberate divine ordinance unfolds through embodied births on earth, indicating providence working through historical events.
Vyāsa narrates that the divine arrangements were completed and beings manifested on earth; Hari/Nārāyaṇa then produces two hairs—one white and one dark—an omen-like sign associated with forthcoming incarnate agents of the divine purpose.
