कुशैस्तु भूमौ शयनं चकार माद्रीपुत्र: सहदेवस्तरस्वी | यथा स्वकीयान्यजिनानि सर्वे संस्तीर्य वीरा: सुषुपुर्धरण्याम्,तदनन्तर वेगवान् वीर माद्रीकुमार सहदेवने धरतीपर कुशकी शय्या बिछा दी। फिर समस्त पाण्डव वीर अपने-अपने मृगचर्म बिछाकर भूमिधर ही सोये
kuśais tu bhūmau śayanaṃ cakāra mādrīputraḥ sahadevas tarasvī | yathā svakīyāny ajināni sarve saṃstīrya vīrāḥ suṣupur dharaṇyām |
Disse Vaiśampāyana: Então Sahadeva, o veloz e valente filho de Mādrī, fez no chão um leito de relva kuśa. Depois, como cada herói estendeu a sua própria pele de veado, todos os guerreiros se deitaram e dormiram sobre a terra—aceitando um repouso simples e disciplinado, condizente com seu modo de vida austero.
