वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse highlights prudent conduct in uncertain or hostile circumstances: one should take protective measures (posting attendants) and exercise discretion (remaining concealed) to prevent harm and maintain control, without resorting to rashness.
The narrator says that the person, fearing recognition, arranged men around the area as a watch and then personally hid nearby, close to the Bhārgava’s residence, indicating a deliberate, covert stance.
