धृष्टह्युम्न उवाच
The verse functions as a martial and ethical framing: it highlights how power gathers around ambition and rivalry, while implicitly reminding the listener that even within the Kaurava camp figures like Yuyutsu exist—suggesting that personal conscience and dharma can diverge from one’s birth-allegiance.
Dhṛṣṭadyumna identifies and lists notable warriors who have arrived together with Karṇa, indicating the approach or presence of a formidable Kaurava-aligned force and alerting the addressed party to the scale of opposition.
