उच्चैःश्रवसः वर्णविपणः तथा नागशापः
Uccaiḥśravas Color-Wager and the Nāga Curse
तमग्निममरश्रेष्ठ: प्रदहन्तमितस्तत: । वारिणा मेघजेनेन्द्र:ः शमयामास सर्वश:,तब देवराज इन्द्रने इधर-उधर सबको जलाती हुई उस आगको मेघोंके द्वारा जल बरसाकर सब ओरसे बुझा दिया
tam agnim amaraśreṣṭhaḥ pradahantam itas tataḥ | vāriṇā meghajenendraḥ śamayāmāsa sarvaśaḥ ||
Então Indra, o mais eminente entre os imortais, vendo aquele fogo arder e consumir tudo em todas as direções, fez cair chuva de águas nascidas das nuvens e o extinguiu completamente, por todos os lados.
