Vāraṇāvata-prasaṃsā and the Pāṇḍavas’ Departure (वरणावत-प्रशंसा तथा पाण्डव-प्रयाणम्)

अहो वो धिग्‌ बल क्षात्रं धिगेतां व: कृतास्त्राताम्‌ । भरतस्यान्वये जाता ये वीटां नाधिगच्छत,“अहो! तुमलोगोंके क्षत्रिययलको धिक्कार है और तुमलोगोंकी इस अस्त्र-विद्या- विषयक निपुणताको भी धिक्‍कार है; क्योंकि तुमलोग भरतवंशमें जन्म लेकर भी कुएँमें गिरी हुई गुल्लीको नहीं निकाल पाते

vaiśaṃpāyana uvāca | aho vo dhig bala kṣātraṃ dhig etāṃ vaḥ kṛtāstratām | bharatasyānvaye jātā ye vīṭāṃ nādhigacchata ||

Disse Vaiśaṃpāyana: “Vergonha da vossa força de Kṣatriya—vergonha até da vossa tão apregoada mestria nas armas! Pois, embora nascidos na linhagem de Bharata, não conseguis sequer recuperar uma pequena bola caída num poço.”
