Droṇa’s Ācārya-Dakṣiṇā: Capture of Drupada and Division of Pāñcāla (द्रोण-आचार्यदक्षिणा)

वाहयित्वा कुमारांस्ताञ्जलक्रीडागतांस्तदा । प्रमाणकोट्यां वासार्थी सुष्वापावाप्य तत्‌ स्थलम्‌,वे जलक्रीड़ाके लिये आये हुए उन कुमारोंको साथ लेकर विश्राम करनेकी इच्छासे प्रमाणकोटिके उस गृहमें आये और वहीं एक स्थानमें सो गये

vāhayitvā kumārāṁs tāñ jalakrīḍāgatāṁs tadā | pramāṇakoṭyāṁ vāsārthī suṣvāpa āvāpy tat sthalam ||

Disse Vaiśampāyana: Tendo trazido consigo aqueles rapazes que haviam vindo para os jogos de água, e desejando um lugar para repousar, entrou na casa em Pramāṇakoṭī e ali se deitou para dormir, em certo ponto. A cena ressalta como necessidades comuns—descanso e abrigo—podem preparar o palco para acontecimentos decisivos, lembrando que cuidado e vigilância em espaços partilhados fazem parte do reto dever.
