Droṇa’s Ācārya-Dakṣiṇā: Capture of Drupada and Division of Pāñcāla (द्रोण-आचार्यदक्षिणा)
विहारावसथेष्वेव वीरा वासमरोचयन् । खिन्नस्तु बलवान् भीमो व्यायम्याभ्यधिकं तदा,जलक्रीड़ा समाप्त होनेपर दिनके अन्तमें विहारसे थके हुए वे समस्त कुरुश्रेष्ठ वीर शुद्ध वस्त्र धारणकर सुन्दर आभूषणोंसे विभूषित हो उन क्रीड़ाभवनोंमें ही रात बितानेका विचार करने लगे। बलवान् भीमसेन उस समय अधिक परिश्रम करनेके कारण बहुत थक गये थे
Vaiśampāyana uvāca: vihārāvasatheṣv eva vīrā vāsam arocayan | khinnas tu balavān bhīmo vyāyamyābhyadhikaṃ tadā ||
Disse Vaiśampāyana: Quando terminaram os jogos de água e o recreio do dia, aqueles heróis, os mais eminentes dos Kurus—cansados de suas diversões—vestiram roupas limpas e belos ornamentos e escolheram passar a noite nos próprios pavilhões de prazer. Mas o poderoso Bhīma estava então especialmente exausto, por ter-se esforçado além da medida.
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse highlights moderation and awareness of human limits: even the strongest can be overcome by excessive exertion, so prudent conduct includes recognizing fatigue and its consequences.
After finishing their day’s recreation (including water-play), the Kuru princes decide to stay overnight in the pleasure pavilions; Bhīma, having overexerted himself, is notably tired.
