अध्याय 91: अरिष्ट-लक्षण, मृत्यु-संस्कार, पाशुपत-धारणा तथा ओङ्कार-उपासना
ऊर्ध्वा च दृष्टिर्न च सम्प्रतिष्ठा रक्ता पुनः सम्परिवर्तमाना /* मुखस्य शोषः सुषिरा च नाभिरत्युष्णमूत्रो विषमस्थ एव
ūrdhvā ca dṛṣṭirna ca sampratiṣṭhā raktā punaḥ samparivartamānā /* mukhasya śoṣaḥ suṣirā ca nābhiratyuṣṇamūtro viṣamastha eva
Quando o olhar se fixa para o alto e o corpo não encontra firmeza; quando os olhos se avermelham e tornam a girar repetidas vezes; quando a boca seca, o umbigo parece oco, a urina fica excessivamente quente e a pessoa não consegue manter uma postura equilibrada—tudo isso é declarado grave presságio, indicando que o paśu (alma vinculada) está sendo dominado pelos laços do pāśa e se aproxima da crise da vida.
