Adhyaya 89: शौचाचारलक्षणम् — सदाचार, भैक्ष्यचर्या, प्रायश्चित्त, द्रव्यशुद्धि, आशौच-निर्णय

शाकमूलफलादीनां धान्यवच्छुद्धिरिष्यते मार्जनोन्मार्जनैर् वेश्म पुनःपाकेन मृन्मयम्

śākamūlaphalādīnāṃ dhānyavacchuddhiriṣyate mārjanonmārjanair veśma punaḥpākena mṛnmayam

Para verduras, raízes, frutos e semelhantes, prescreve-se a purificação do mesmo modo que para os grãos. A morada torna-se pura ao varrer e limpar; e o vaso de barro torna-se puro ao ser cozido novamente.
