Adhyaya 8: Yogasthanas, Ashtanga Yoga, Pranayama-Siddhi, and Shiva-Dhyana leading to Samadhi

शिवज्ञानं गुरोर्भक्तिर् अचला सुप्रतिष्ठिता निग्रहो ह्यपहृत्याशु प्रसक्तानीन्द्रियाणि च

śivajñānaṃ gurorbhaktir acalā supratiṣṭhitā nigraho hyapahṛtyāśu prasaktānīndriyāṇi ca

O conhecimento firme de Śiva e a devoção ao Guru, inabalável e bem estabelecida—juntamente com o autocontrole, recolhendo depressa os sentidos que correm para seus objetos—essa é a disciplina que conduz o paśu (alma ligada) a Pati (o Senhor).
