Suta Goswami (narrating traditional dharma-vidhi as preserved in the Linga Purana)
It frames purity and disciplined household conduct as supportive auxiliaries (aṅgas) to Shiva-puja, ensuring the devotee approaches the Linga with regulated senses and dharmic order.
By implication, Shiva is the Pati who liberates the paśu from pasha: even worldly life is redirected toward auspiciousness when actions like union and observances are governed by dharma in His presence.
A dharma-based discipline of the senses—rules of conduct and conjugal procedure—functioning as preparatory restraint (niyama-like regulation) that supports Shaiva worship and inner purification.
