Ācamana-vidhi, Śauca, and Conduct Rules for Study, Eating, and Bodily Functions

नोच्छिष्टं कुर्वते मुख्या विप्रुषो ऽङ्गं नयन्ति याः / दन्तवद् दन्तलग्नेषु जिह्वास्पर्शे ऽशुचिर्भवेत्

nocchiṣṭaṃ kurvate mukhyā vipruṣo 'ṅgaṃ nayanti yāḥ / dantavad dantalagneṣu jihvāsparśe 'śucirbhavet

A pessoa torna-se impura se, ao comer, faz da boca ‘ucchiṣṭa’ (manchada por restos), ou se gotas de alimento ou saliva caem sobre os membros. Do mesmo modo, o alimento preso entre os dentes deve ser tido como preso aos próprios dentes; e ao tocá-lo com a língua, torna-se impuro.
