यमाः सनियमाः प्रोक्ताः प्राणायामं निबोधत / प्राणः स्वदेहजो वायुरायामस्तन्निरोधनम्
yamāḥ saniyamāḥ proktāḥ prāṇāyāmaṃ nibodhata / prāṇaḥ svadehajo vāyurāyāmastannirodhanam
Os yamas, juntamente com os niyamas, foram ensinados; agora compreende o prāṇāyāma. Prāṇa é o sopro vital nascido no próprio corpo; “āyāma” é a sua contenção—portanto, prāṇāyāma é refrear esse alento de vida.
