Adhyāya 25 — Liṅga-māhātmya (The Chapter on the Liṅga): Hari’s Śiva-Worship and the Fiery Pillar Theophany
Sūta (narrator) recounting the episode to the sages
Primary Rasa: vira
Secondary Rasa: raudra
Indirectly: it highlights dharma in action—protection of society after overcoming hostility—an outer sign of inner steadiness (ātma-niṣṭhā) praised across the Kurma Purana’s teachings.
No explicit yogic technique is stated; the verse emphasizes karma aligned with dharma (rakṣaṇa—protective duty). In Kurma Purana’s broader frame, disciplined action becomes a support for purification that later matures into yoga and devotion.
Not directly; it uses a Vaiṣṇava benchmark (Kṛṣṇa-like valor) to praise heroic protection. In the Kurma Purana’s synthesis, such divine qualities are honored as expressions of the one īśvara revered in both Śaiva and Vaiṣṇava idioms.
