«Quem buscar (o fruto) deste hino—que meu afeto por essa pessoa seja sempre imperecível. Os que recitam este mesmo hino neste mundo são verdadeiros devotos de Viṣṇu e são queridos a Hari.»
Lord Vishnu (Hari) speaking to Garuda (Vinata-putra)
Concept: Stotra-patha as a bhakti-sadhana; the reciter becomes Hari-priya and gains enduring spiritual support (akshaya-priti).
Vedantic Theme: Nama/stotra as upasana; grace mediated through sincere repetition; bhakta-lakshana (marks of a devotee).
Application: Adopt regular hymn-recitation; dedicate intention (artha) toward devotion; build a daily practice that reinforces identity as Hari’s devotee.
Primary Rasa: shanta
Secondary Rasa: adbhuta
Type: human realm
Related Themes: Garuda Purana 3.6.24 (daily recitation and offering to Hari); Garuda Purana: stotra-phala passages elsewhere (general)
This verse states that reciting the stotra marks one as a true Vaiṣṇava and makes the reciter dear to Hari, indicating devotional practice as a direct means to divine grace.
Though not describing after-death stages directly, it emphasizes bhakti (devotional recitation) as a sustaining spiritual merit that aligns the practitioner with Viṣṇu’s favor—an implied safeguard on one’s spiritual trajectory.
Regularly chant and study the hymn with sincerity and ethical living; treat devotion as daily discipline, aiming for steadiness (akṣayā prīti) rather than occasional ritual performance.
