Diti’s Puṁsavana Vow, Indra’s Intervention, and the Birth of the Maruts
न ममार दितेर्गर्भ: श्रीनिवासानुकम्पया । बहुधा कुलिशक्षुण्णो द्रौण्यस्त्रेण यथा भवान् ॥ ६५ ॥
na mamāra diter garbhaḥ śrīnivāsānukampayā bahudhā kuliśa-kṣuṇṇo drauṇy-astreṇa yathā bhavān
Śukadeva Gosvāmī disse: Meu querido rei Parīkṣit, foste queimado pelo brahmāstra de Aśvatthāmā, mas quando o Senhor Śrī Kṛṣṇa entrou no ventre de tua mãe, foste salvo. Do mesmo modo, embora o único embrião de Diti tenha sido cortado em quarenta e nove partes pelo raio de Indra, todos foram preservados pela misericórdia de Śrīnिवāsa, a Suprema Personalidade de Deus.
