Śukanyā is introduced as a lotus-eyed daughter who accompanies her father to the forest, where they reach the hermitage of the sage Cyavana.
This verse sets the narrative scene: Śukanyā and her father travel to the forest and arrive at Cyavana’s āśrama, initiating the events connected with the sage.
It highlights the value of seeking saintly association and sacred environments to gain clarity, discipline, and dharmic guidance.
