Sudāmā Brāhmaṇa: Divine Friendship, Guru-bhakti, and the Lord’s Grace

स वै सत्कर्मणां साक्षाद् द्विजातेरिह सम्भव: । आद्योऽङ्ग यत्राश्रमिणां यथाहं ज्ञानदो गुरु: ॥ ३२ ॥

Transliteration

sa vai sat-karmaṇāṁ sākṣād dvijāter iha sambhavaḥ ādyo ’ṅga yatrāśramiṇāṁ yathāhaṁ jñāna-do guruḥ

Translation

Meu amigo, aquele que concede o nascimento físico é o primeiro mestre; e aquele que inicia como duas-vezes-nascido e o engaja nos deveres do dharma é, mais diretamente, seu mestre. Mas quem concede conhecimento transcendental aos membros de todos os āśramas é o mestre supremo e último; de fato, ele é como o Meu próprio ser.
