In this episode, Lord Hari assumes the humble form of Vāmana—a brahmacārī brāhmaṇa—so He can approach Bali Mahārāja as a supplicant and test Bali’s vow of charity and surrender while revealing divine majesty through His effulgence.
The Bhṛgus are revered sages of the Bhṛgu lineage. Recognizing the extraordinary presence of the young ascetic, they rose to honor Him according to dharma, though His radiance naturally overwhelmed them.
True spiritual greatness may appear in humble dress; cultivate reverence, humility, and discernment—honor genuine holiness without being distracted by external appearance.
