Aditi’s Payo-vrata and Viṣṇu’s Promise to Appear as Her Son
Prelude to Vāmana
सोत्थाय बद्धाञ्जलिरीडितुं स्थिता नोत्सेह आनन्दजलाकुलेक्षणा । बभूव तूष्णीं पुलकाकुलाकृति- स्तद्दर्शनात्युत्सवगात्रवेपथु: ॥ ६ ॥
sotthāya baddhāñjalir īḍituṁ sthitā notseha ānanda-jalākulekṣaṇā babhūva tūṣṇīṁ pulakākulākṛtis tad-darśanātyutsava-gātra-vepathuḥ
Aditi ergueu-se com as mãos postas para louvar, mas não conseguiu orar; seus olhos se encheram de lágrimas de bem-aventurança transcendental. Ao ver Bhagavān face a face, seu corpo se arrepiou; ela permaneceu em silêncio e tremeu de êxtase.
