FAQs

This verse shows Indra questioning the underlying cause behind an opponent’s sudden “durdharṣatva” (unconquerability), implying that extraordinary power arises from a specific source—such as boons, austerity, or higher backing—rather than mere physical ability.

In the midst of the devas’ conflict with the asuras, Indra observes his enemy’s unusual prowess and asks for the reason behind it, seeking strategic and spiritual clarity about the source of that power.

Before reacting to someone’s influence or “power,” inquire into its real source—training, support systems, discipline, or values—and respond with discernment rather than fear or speculation.
