FAQs

It conveys anatomical localization of a technically named bodily point/region (‘śivikā’) across multiple limb-and-torso sites, consistent with marma/trauma-oriented Ayurvedic mapping used for diagnosis and injury management.

By cataloging precise body-locations in a technical register (Ayurveda/Śalya–marma knowledge), it shows the Agni Purāṇa functioning as a compendium that includes medical anatomy alongside ritual, polity, and arts.

While primarily medical/technical, such disciplined knowledge is traditionally valued as dharmic learning—supporting protection of life (ahiṃsā in practice) through correct understanding of vulnerable bodily points.
