Procedure for Preliminary Consecration in Vāstu–Pratiṣṭhā / Īśāna-kalpa

Concept: Guru-ājñā (authoritative instruction) and spatial precision (nābhi-centeredness) safeguard ritual correctness.
Application: When multiple kuṇḍas are used, standardize orientation from the central hub and ensure each practitioner performs saṃskāra only in their assigned kuṇḍa under supervision.

Related Themes: Agni Purana 96 (kuṇḍa-pratiṣṭhā, homa-saṃskāra context)
It teaches a procedural rule for homa: prioritize/identify the kuṇḍa’s central ‘nābhi’ (hub) and, under the guru’s direction, carry out the saṃskṛti (ritual purification/consecration) of one’s own fire-pit before proceeding with offerings.
Beyond mythology, the Agni Purāṇa functions as a practical manual: this verse preserves technical worship-operations—how to prepare, authorize, and sanctify the ritual apparatus (the kuṇḍa) within a guru-led initiation framework.
Performing kuṇḍa-saṃskāra under proper authority (guru-ājñā) is presented as necessary for ritual purity and efficacy, ensuring offerings are made in a correctly consecrated space and thus yield intended merit (puṇya) without procedural fault.
