Se alguém comer o alimento de tais pessoas, só se purifica ao fim de dez dias. Mas, se não comer o alimento delas, não deve morar naquela casa nem por um único dia.

Related Themes: Agni Purana 158 (graded śauca by contact and conduct)
It gives a practical śauca (purity) rule: eating the food associated with an impure context incurs a ten-day purification period; avoiding that food requires avoiding residence in that house even for a day.
Alongside theology and ritual, the Agni Purana also preserves Dharmaśāstra-style social and purity regulations governing daily life—showing its coverage of applied ethics and household discipline.
The verse frames contact through food and residence as karmically consequential; careful avoidance and prescribed time-bound purification are presented as means to restore ritual fitness and religious order.
