Application: When adhimāsa arises, consult pañcāṅga and increase offerings/observance (abhyadhika) so the vow’s total discipline and giving remain equivalent.

It prescribes the materials used to fulfil a dana/observance—grain, curds, honey, and meat—and gives a technical rule that if an intercalary month (adhimāsa) falls within the period, the performance should be increased (abhyadhika).
It combines practical dharma-śāstra style instruction (what substances complete a rite/gift) with calendrical regulation (how to adjust when adhimāsa occurs), showing the text’s coverage of both ritual procedure and time-reckoning norms.
By completing the prescribed offering correctly—and augmenting it when an adhimāsa intervenes—the practitioner avoids deficiency in the vow’s merit and maintains the intended पुण्य (religious efficacy) of the observance.
